Office Hours

Undergraduate Academic Officer

In order to have a concentration PROPOSAL form approved, you need to have an in-person meeting with the STS Undergraduate Officer, Professor William Deringer.

Students may meet with Professor Deringer about concentration proposal form approvals, concentration class changes, transfer credit advising (for STS-related subjects), and pursuing a minor or joint or double major in STS.

Due to a family matter, Prof. Deringer will not be holding office hours the week of February 4-8. For current and prospective STS concentrators, Prof. Deringer will approve any valid proposal and completion forms by the Feb. 8 deadline without an in-person meeting beforehand. For prospective concentrators submitting a proposal, we will ask that you meet with Prof. Deringer later in the semester. If you have a time-sensitive matter that must be handled in person (like a Minor form), or you would like to have a longer conversation with Prof. Deringer, please send an email to Prof. Deringer and Karen Gardner.

He will hold regular office hours on Thursdays from 9:15am-10:45am starting on February 14, 2019.

If you are making changes to your approved proposal form before submitting your completion, please send an email to Professor Deringer about the change, and submit the change online. If you are submitting a completion form for a concentration proposal that was approved and has no changes, just go ahead and submit your form online.
