Office Hours

Undergraduate Academic Officer

In order to have a concentration PROPOSAL form approved, you need to have an in-person meeting with the STS Undergraduate Officer, Professor William Deringer.

Students may meet with Professor Deringer about concentration proposal form approvals, concentration class changes, transfer credit advising (for STS-related subjects), and pursuing a minor or joint or double major in STS.

During the Spring term, Prof. Deringer will hold office hours in E51-188 on Mondays between 3pm and 4pm.

During the week of February 3-7, extended office hours will be held as follows:
Monday, February 3: 3:30pm-5:30pm
Tuesday, February 4: 2pm-5pm
Wednesday, February 5: 9am-11:30am

Students not able to meet during any of those times should contact Prof. Deringer at deringer@mit.edu.

If you are making changes to your approved proposal form before submitting your completion, please send an email to Professor Deringer about the change, and submit the change online. If you are submitting a completion form for a concentration proposal that was approved and has no changes, just go ahead and submit your form online.
