Katrin Kish, postdoctoral fellow of faculty member Dave Kaiser, has signed a book contract with Springer for their upcoming book, titled Rethinking Intuitionism.

This book explores the intricate interplay between individuals, communities, and the evolution of mathematical knowledge, using Brouwer’s intuitionism as a lens to examine how social, philosophical, and historical forces shape scientific ideas. By reintegrating the human dimension into the narrative of mathematics, the book demonstrates how knowledge is not simply created in isolation but emerges through dynamic interactions within social structures, cultural contexts, and intellectual communities.

Kish instructed an IAP activity on polarization this January on polarization—a buzzword that defines our times. More information on IAP activity can be found here.
