Deringer’s first book, Calculated Values: Finance, Politics, and the Quantitative Age (Harvard University Press, 2018) was selected as the winner of the 2019 Oscar Kenshur Book Prize from the Center for Eighteenth-Century Studies at Indiana University. Awarded annually, the Kenshur Prize recognizes the year’s best book in eighteenth-century studies, of interest to scholars working across a range of disciplines. In conjunction with the prize, the Center for Eighteenth-Century Studies will host a symposium on Deringer’s book at the Lilly Library in Bloomington, IN on September 27.
