Students will research the history and culture of East Campus to learn about how the residence of today came into being and shaped the experience of being an MIT student at difference moments in time. Students will also learn about the methods historians use to document the past and will have the opportunity to conduct original research. Findings from student research will be shared with the East Campus community in preparation for the upcoming renovation of the residence. Assignments will include short papers, presentations, and a final research project.
Please note that this course is intended for undergraduates who are past or present residents of East Campus.
